This old argument? almost any great RB had or has a good to great run-blocking line and that includes LT who DOES have a good or better line.

Re: Official player ratings

Peyton -- 97
Brady -- 97 (assuming he returns full strength)
I don't think either are "best of all time" right now which for me to call them a 99 that is one of the requirements.

Brees -- 92 has his weaknesses but I would put him in the elite category

Peterson -- 93 I would say he is probably the best back in the NFL right now, would even call him elite but there are too many holes in his game to give him higher than this

Deangelo -- 90 After his breakout year and him being among the top backs in most areas last year I could see giving him borderline elite status

Jacobs -- 88 Although I think he is pretty much as good of back as the other two a lot of his ability comes from his weight which isn't going to show in overall. Hopefully it shows in the game though

Chris Johnson -- 85 Had a great year but a lot of the time it was as a second back and part of it could be credited to one of the most underrated and one of the best olines in the NFL

LT -- 83 Really dropped off these last two years, sure there were some injuries but he is definatly past his prime

Deangelo Williams was the best runningback in the league last year guys.

Look at the fumbles and YPA.

Yes, last season he was statistically the best back and if he was the top rated back this next year I would have no arguments. I could see him, peterson, or turner rated as the top back and I wouldn't complain. Overall ratings are pretty tough to predict especially with the rescaled ratings we haven't really seen yet. It is also tough to tell how different strengths and weaknesses are going to effect overall ratings.

Yes but players like Portis, Jackson, Slaton, and Lynch list above him since they all have worse OLs and still are tops in the NFL. Untill Peterson can prove that he can get 5 yds without a hole the size of the grand canyon, I dont see him as the best. Even LT had a worse OL last year. Then look at Taylor who has been one of the worst backs before comming to Minnesota and now he had 4 TDs, 400 yds, and a 4.0 carry as a backup. In the game that Peterson was injured last year he had around 200 yds.

Look at this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqDV5j7em68

Only 3 plays in the whole thing did he have to go threw much. On the chicago one it was a great broken tackle but he also had the leverage. The bears players werent tackling well trying to push him instead of wrap him up. Not only that but the saftey went flying in there and stopped the tackle on accident. Now heres a video of 2 power backs who dont have a OL

Lynch

Jackson

I still think Peterson is a good RB but hasnt been tested enough with a bad OL to be noted as great yet. Look at how LT fell apart when his OL did, same with Peterson at the end of the year.
