I had another play editor thread awhile back, basically saying that if we got back the PS2 era play editor, with a few minor adjustments, then I think that segment of the community would ecstatically happy. Myself included. Here's that discussion:

Given some time to think about how it would be implemented, I think an online solution would be best. First of all, Ian and his team could keep adding things to it, making improvements, and killing off cheeze and glitches. They would have total access to correct things as problems arise.
Secondly, as long as it has some kind of real-time playable practice mode then it shouldn't be too cumbersome to use. As long as we have that interface to fine tune plays as we make them, this seems like a very workable solution.
Lastly, it gives Ian and his team more time to work on perfecting it, because they can be tuning and testing it all the way up until the last minute because they can make it go live on ship day.
So, since this solution comes with more power and the ability to be constantly updated and fixed during the season, I vote for the online play creation tool.
