Yes, Fireman Ed is a fan. But he's been named the offical team mascot.

Re: Details, Details, Details.

I thought Firemen Ed or who ever was a real guy who led the "J! E1 T! S! JETS! JETS! JETS!" cheer. I mean that he is a real person who is not officially associated with the NY Jets or the NFL.

I could have sworn I saw an ESPN video talking about how he tried to start this a few times in the past before it became popular and it started to grow and spread throughout the stadium that now he is LIKE and unoffical cheerleader/mascot type person.

The 49ers had that banjo guy, the Broncos had the Barrel guy, the Raiders have... well, Raiders fans

didnt know that. That would awful hard to animate because they sit in the stands. So his annimaton would have to be pre-rendered ala the "Create-a-Fan" feature...

If the Packers have a mascot, it would be news to me.

Re: Details, Details, Details.

Ugh... no media interviews, PLEASE. Everything 2k did with player voices was terrible. Totally destroys my suspension of disbelief to see Jerry Rice stuck with "Generic Black Guy Voice" or Brett Favre with "Generic White Guy Voice".

I know what the players on my favorite team sound like. I know what types of things they tend to say. Warren Sapp doesn't say "I'd just like to thank my teammates for giving 110%". You cannot capture a player's personality no matter how many lines you record and how good the voice actors are.

Plus audio is a huge chunk of disk space, so no. It's a waste.

Then again, if it were up to me, I'd throw up the play by play commentators and just record the 32 authentic stadium announcers and really blow out the audio with the teams real pre-game introductions and everything. I'd put it all in-stadium. So I've got a little bit different take on all of it.

Re: Details, Details, Details.

How about the
1. hand towels being ripped off during a tackle and the player going to pick it up after the play
2. Long sleeves/gloves being removed mid-way through rain games if player is having grip problems.
