MRxAmazing@Backbreaker I've actually been excited about this game for a while. I thought it had gotten cancelled, but I guess not

"Backbreaker@MRxAmazing We're coming strong this year. When we do come out of our media blackout it will put a ton of questions to rest."

MRxAmazing@Backbreaker I'm REALLY excited to hear that. Would you be able to answer ANY questions about the game? I've been intrigued since day 1.

I don't know that this required it's own thread, but I thought this was pretty funny. It's from Ian's Twitter too:

Re: Backbreaker In Madden '10? For Real?

If the tackling system of euphoria is truely revolutionary as in every tackle is different and you will never see the same then EA i think will have some good competittion.

Me i'm not a believer of the every tackle is different and you will never see the same tackle twice or how ever many times.

I'll believe it when I see it!!!

But if it is like they say it is people are going to line up to eget this game just b/c of the revolutionary tackling system, but the offensive and other aspects of the game needs to be up to par.

Re: Backbreaker In Madden '10? For Real?

I would say Ian has a professional interest in Backbreaker, both adversarial (as it's going to be his competitor) and professional (interested to know how another company will do it), but he's mentioned wanting to see natural motion in action in a sports game before he commits to doing something like that in Madden, so of course Backbreaker is going to pique his curiosity.

If Backbreaker can get real time physics to work well in a sports game (something I'm personally very skeptical about), it'll be real interesting to see where it takes sports in general. To this point, I haven't seen those physics used in a way that would work. Rag dolls don't belong in sports, it can stick with being corpses.

Another thing: I don't think Backbreaker is even going for sim. I think it'll be more blitzlike. Between it's name, graphics, and the one video, it looks really arcady to me.

As if ESPN could ever let us forget... It's the only reason they forgive him for being a Christian.

White and Christian usually means ESPN hates you... unless you used to be really poor, then it's okay.

Re: Backbreaker In Madden '10? For Real?

I heard the catching and tackling system are just like the running system. Using the stick to do a certain type/series of catches and the RT to open another set of catches. I heard no trigger possession type catches and trigger more speculator type catches. Don't ask me how or where, but thats what I heard I maybe wrong, I heard that quite some time ago.

Re: Backbreaker In Madden '10? For Real?

The physics engine is obviously amazing. The graphics look stellar as well.

My concern is with the "robo" uniforms and the hyper superman tackles.....is it possible to just wrap tackle or does every tackle have to be crash test dummies in an automobile accident?

I curious to see more but i fear that they will miss the mark when it comes to simulation.
