Fun fact of the day...NCAA's recruits are all hand-made / pre-canned.
They randomize the first and last names...but each recruit is actually pre-determined. I know because I had to spend like a full week writing all kinds of insane Excel formulas back in NCAA 07 to generate those players in the table for them to start with.

That made me feel at ease for a short time, but the problem with the maddens pre made classes will be that each player has a set potential rating.
Lets say I start a franchise and projected top 5 in the draft look like this.
1. OT 6'4 305
2. QB 6'3 235
3. DE 6'3 270
4. DT 6'5 315
5. OT 6'5 295
I continue to play this franchise for 6 or 7 more years. I can clearly see which players have turned out to have the most potential and who were busts.
I get bored of this franchise and start a new one. By chance I get the same draft class in year 4. Even if their names and schools are randomized I think I would recognize the same order for the top 5 at the start of the season. Now I know who will be superstars out of that draft class.
Now I know the chance of this happening is very slim, but I still do not want it to be possible.
Lets not forget that they are planning on putting in guys like Jack English and LeRon James. I just pray that they don't put many of these guys in, because that will give the class away as soon as the season starts(if i have seen it before).
I think the only way of curing this, that I can see, is to randomize names, schools, as well as potential. But I don't think that will happen for this years madden. They seem to think that the only way to create balance is to set the potential for each player in each draft class in stone. Surely you could generate potential numbers within a certain range for draft classes as a whole, with higher picks more likely to have higher potential then lower ones.
