I wouldn't doubt it. I never liked the signing of Greg Knapp as O-Coordinator. He was the Raiders Coordinator and look how much they sucked on offense.

True, but he was the quarterbacks coach for the 49ers in 98 when they had the statistically best offense that season... the 49ers had the number one offense in the year that the Vikings set the record for points and the Broncos went 14-2 with Davis, Elway and Sharpe... so, yeah, he was the QB coach for a very good offense...

Granted, the QB was Steve Young having one of his best statistical seasons, with Jerry Rice and TO, but still... :shrugs:

wasnt marshall faulk on the cover of 03? he played for the rams and went downhill after his cover appearence.

that been said, both RBs were getting past their primes at that point. Marshall was 30 when 03 was released and Alexander was about 28 (after just coming off a record breaking season).

Terrell Davis got injured (which subsequently led to his retirement) after running for over 2000 yards the year before and LT went downhill last season after his record breaking year and neither of them were on the madden cover. there are probably more examples of this, but i am lazy.
