Exclamation Respectfully: EA's act of not answering direct questions is getting old

Like many of you I am a long time EA Sports supporter. I've purchased every pc version of Madden since the game came out, and still run a 32 team franchise league with 32 owners and 51 on a waiting list wanting to get in.

As great as it's been to interact with the Madden team on this edition, its sad to see them flat out ignore specific questions about the game. If it isn't going to have online franchise step up and say it. If it isn't going to be for the PC, step up and say it. The list goes on and on. The secrecy doesn't enhance the product all that much, but it sure does piss off the people that pay the bills.

EA has no specific competition right now, so the time to be upfront about the product has never been better. Wht has EA not answered some of the questions that have been asked about repeatedly regarding this years game? It's becasue the game will not feature many of the things that have been asked about. The 2011 version is more likely to be a complete game. Afterall, if the game had online franchise this year, EA would simply announce it. Those that dont care would continue not to care, but those that do care would be elated! All the signs are there coaches. We've done this dance before. Name a single time that information regarding a Madden game was secretive and then the item in question came out in game. NEVER!

I mean really, just exactly what has been upgraded so far? Yes, the graphics look better, but thats an evolving aspect of tech that always imporves. No big whippie there. Adjusting values and ratings are nice, but frankly many of us have been fixing that mess on our own for a long time. Again, no big deal there.

Most if not all these items we've been asking for won't be in game. Expect nice changes in what has been discussed and not much more.

The one concern I have about EA still is that you don't get the fact that some people want some specific features and wont buy the game if it doesnt have them.

Frankly, the unanswered questions are a turn off to consumers. Hopefully someone will bring some competition and create everything that is being asked for. I know of at least 3 groups trying to do just that right now and most of them have quality people working on the projects. Part of the problem here is that EA has no competition.

You can bet your azz that when some quality football game comes out that has some of the things we've been asking about like online franchise or a pc version EA will see many former customers buy that new product. There's some pretty good people working on online football games right now and all this disregard for the questions posed here just leads me to think EA wants buyers to once again back into a purchase site unseen.

If all that is being offered is a prettier game with a bunch of promises I'll pass on the 2010 version just like I did with 2009 and wait and see when EA starts telling us upfront what we are buying.

Its April. Settle down. This isn't like the Da Vinci Code, the UFO Conspiracy or how we faked Apollo Moon Landings, its a game that comes out every August. Its not like we won't get answers.

The press release announcer all platforms for Madden 10. No PC version, don't blame EA, blame the pirates. Why would EA spend time on PC when their profits wouldn't be worth it?

And they can not talk about the big features being in or out right now because marketing needs things held back so they can build hype up right before release.

The "game" is already done for this years release. They are only fine tuning the product. They have the answers now and are making a conscious decision not to release the information until sales begin. Even then, if EA hasn't changed it's marketing strategy questions will never be answered. Sorry, seen it too many times not to recognize it again.

I'm supportive of a great product when one is offered, but I'm also a customer that has seen the same questions asked over and over from a large base of consumers and no reply to the questions. If it's in the game, say so, if it's not, say so. If you are working on it and not sure - say so.

That's not too much to ask given the long time support this community has given EA in the Madden series.

Re: Respectfully: EA's act of not answering direct questions is getting old

I thought I saw this same thread in another thread about on line possibilities.

Oh, wait, sorry about that, it appears that post was deleted and made into this thread. ok.

I don't see where Ian, Phil and team haven't been honest with us.

The online feature if it's in the game will be announced at E3 in 5 or 6 weeks. Plus, just like the my signature says, we get the small nuggets of information until draft day and draft day and beyond we will have the bigger announcements made.

We've known that information since January.

Thats all good and great. Been there seen that for a long time now. Same old story. What do you call hype that never comes to surface?

I'm sure the game will have some nice new stuff. But I doubt we see anything that has been unanswered in this version.
