Blocking Field Goals - Can It Be Done?

After watching Shaun Rogers block a couple FGs last season by simply bull rushing through the O-Line. I am curious if anyone knows if it is possible in 09 or 10.

You get closer to that with punt blocks and I've actually done it once when I backed my buddies' punter to the rear of the endzone. Ironically I did this while he was playing as the Cowboys.

It is possible in 09, just extremely difficult. You must have perfect timing. You just back up and rush the line a second before they snap it and if you get to the line of scrimmage right as they snap it you will get through and potentially block it. This works well when your opponent is running down the clock (maybe for a game winner).

Yeah its too difficult for my taste. Its impossible without some sort of running up to the line tactic.

The animation of diving to block the punt is meaningless. Id like to see some basic gameplay to be able to stop fg's. Some sort of paper scissor rock adjusted for a 3% blocking chance or what ever the real nfl stat is.

Yeah, but it's almost impossible to block a field goal by just gettin' a bull rush with the DT and havin' him put one hand up and knock it down.

Pretty much the only time I've blocked them in 09 PS3 is with the DT. Unfortunately suction blocking is what does it. I've blocked probably 4-5 FG's in M09.
