You Most Drastic Position Switch Rating Changes

I just switched the Browns to a 4-3 Defense in my second season.

Kamerion Wimbley From OLB to LE

84-------> 98 OVR

What are your best?

In Madden, anytime you switch an OLB to a DE, you usually get a major ratings boost, even if it doesnt make much sense.

Wimbley probably would be better at 4-3 DE since he is a one dimensional pass rusher (not THAT good though), but even if you put Ernie Sims as a DE for the Steelers, his numbers would jump, even though in reality, Sims would be tossed around like a rag doll in that situation.

I know, I figured I would ask to see if anyone drafted or picked up someone and moved them for more than a 14 point increase.

I know about this one, have a bug in my inbox actually. Very hard bugger to fix....problem is that OLB have Zone Coverage factored into their OVR, while DEs do not.

We almost need to penalize OLBs pass rush moves or something, to level the field. But then that stinks for the Merriman/Ware guys who are almost DEs out there at OLB.

How would you like to see this problem get resolved? Any ideas?

Perhaps factor weight into it donny, say perhaps a lb under a certain weight can not be switched to a de??

If there were to be some type of inclusion of the defensive set of the team. That would be a good start.

I traded for Vernon Gholston and moved he and Wimbley to DE.
I didn't make the moves until I went to a 4-3 defense (trying to stay as sim as possible).

Gholston is a true DE. He was a DE at Ohio State and no one could handle him (not even #1 pick Jake Long).

I think Pass Defense should be some role, it only makes sense.

However, I also feel like these types of things are what make the game fun from a management point of view.

The only thing I would like to see is a less direct correlation between switching positions.

For instance - I plan on drafting a MLB and moving him to OLB because I know his OVR will go up. Call it what you will (cheese) but it makes the stat sheet look nice.

I like this. I also moved Shaun Smith (DE, Browns) to DT and he went up in OVR... That should not be the case for a Gholston or Wimbley from OLB to DT but they do go up in OVR there as well.

(FYI- Smith is around 320 lbs)
