Ratings are defintley decreasing, 1st proof

I sent a thread to Donny asking Edwards and Lynchs rating. I guessed Lynch in the 90s like last year and Edwards at 80 like last year but he said lower. I guessed 85 for Lynch and 76 for Edwards and he said almost perfect which shows how much they are decreasing ratings this year. They both wouldve improved if Madden still used the old system.

Thank god, the first thing i always do when i get a new madden is edit the ratings, before i even play. For a long time madden had to many 90+ overal players.

Agreed. Go back to 2000 or 2001 and there were only 3 starting QBs with over a 90 overall. Troy Aikman was only an 86 in Madden 2000!

In correlation: sim stats were much closer to the real-life counterpart (the NFL) than either Madden 2008 or 2009. It wasn't broke, why did they "fix" it?

I think the ratings will look something like this:

Urlacher-92
Ray Lewis-93
Pat Willis-93
Jay Cutler-86
Matt Forte-85

just some examples...but on draft day when they announce ratings, that will give a good idea. so if someone like crabtree is rated a 78 or 79, instead of a 84-85 which is what his 09 rating would be, then we know what to expect from current players too

I wish they'd go that far with it.

It's not quite that low, but I wish it was. Still, it's a huge improvement.
