That's so true. Hey, at least they show some damn passion. We need these guys to be excited when announcing the game. Jeez.

I hear ya. From 09 commentary, I got the impression that Tom Hammond didn't want to be in the booth, and his voice sounded lazy and forced.

Love Collinsworth enthusiasm though. He knows where its at, even though some people hate him.

Bring back Al Michaels, he always loved to do the commentary.

That way we'd have the Sunday NIght Football team, and they'd have real conversations with eachother and are comfortable with eachother. It'll sound authentic too.

What you hear on SNF you hear in Madden!

Michaels for M11.

Agreed. Unfortunately, I doubt we'll be hearing Al in the booth. I think it's going to be Collinsworth and Hammond for a couple more years. Someone needs to give the guy some red bulls in the booth for Christ's sakes.

And we need Erin Andrews' NFL compatriot on the sidelines in M10!

Preferably someone of equal or greater hotness.

Hey I'll settle for Suzy Kolber. I know she's no where near as hot as Erin, but it's a start. lol

Re: Some thoughts on commentating in Madden

It's repeats WAY too much, and in general, most of the comments were stupid and pointless... Moreover, it often didn't match what was going on in the game... I was under the impression that they were supposed to make it a lot less repetitive, but if that was their intention, they didn't do a very good job as game to game, team to team, the same things were being said, they didn't even have any player specific sayings... "He drops back to pass..." "He was decleated" Like who the hell says that... What he knocked the guys cleats right off!!! Woh! Next play... "He was decleated!" Wait a second, did he put his cleats back on?! Woh... Lame lame lame...

From his commentary, Tom Hammond comes off as a smug jerk.

It sounds like pfft, stupid video game, I'm gonna half-arse it.

That's how Hammond sounds in real-life as well. I was watching a Notre Dame game on NBC and he was announcing it and it was so boring. I'm not sure why EA chose him for the game.

I would rather just have a generic announcer with some enthusiasm, ala Dan Stevens and Peter O'Keefe.
