Some thoughts on commentating in Madden

Instead of always saying "Larry Fitzgerald with the catch," make it so that sometimes they say "the former 3rd overall pick with the catch" or "the former pittsburgh panther with the catch" or "the pittsburgh alumn with the catch" - you see where im going...it just adds more realism to the game

I don't believe the commentators mention the players by name enough actually. I don't own Madden 09 so I can barely give an accurate assesment. But I've read here on more than one occasion that the commentary has been too generic in the past: "He drops back...," "He makes the catch...", or "He gets sacked." Who is he?

I'm hoping with the new commentary being recorded this year will provide some originality for most if not all of the big name players. But I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get dynamic commentary for 10.

I think until commenting can be generated on-the-fly, it's annoying and useless. I'll just have the announcer, please.

my brother just showed me on FIFA 09 that you could actually download different announcers and then select which to use in settings...maybe this could be used in the future maddens to spice it up?

but yea there is no real "connection" between the game and the commentators in madden or NCAA..very vague
