Re: Madden Player Ratings Philosophy

Hmm, yeah I may have been too harsh on Seymour and Wilfork.

But A. Thomas and C. Bailey have been injured and no longer warrant 95+ until they prove they fitness.

Samuel is on the Eagles?

Oops Joe Thomas on the Browns. My apologies.

haha.. yep sorry- eagles.

I don't think you can pick and choose who is gonna return from injury 95+... you've given brady 95+ despite being injured alot longer than both thomas and bailey.

IMO if a player has been elite for a few years and has an injury, we have to respect and expect that player to come back strong... if the player has 1 good year and gets injured, fine, reduce him but bailey and thomas have been elite in their position for a while, bailey more so, so both deserve to come bac 95+.

Re: Madden Player Ratings Philosophy

Yeah the coming back from injury thing is kinda inconsistent.

I don't they EA have come up with a consistent way of treating injured players.

It is funny though that every player that got injured last year went down in ratings if they played another game. However, Tom Brady remained 99 because he was fortunate enough to go on IR.

Like Bob Sanders was bumped from 99 to 96 because he played in 8 games? If he played in 0 games he would remain 99. Hows that for ya.

The man-crush on Brady must end here, and everyone can be happy with injured player ratings.

Sorry if i offended you but it's quite clear that wasn't my intention.

I think 50 is about right for 95+...

15ish (too lazy to actually count) positions
3 All pro players in each position (on average)

=45 + variance

= 50.

........
Sorry if I misworded my response. I in no way took your original response as any sort of direct personal attack or anything. I was just speaking about us in terms of our posting here.

While you intentions may have been to try to list the 50 who would make EAs cut I still feel the idea that there should not be 50 is a valid counterarguement.

I think 50 at that elite level sounds about right...there are a lot of defensive playmakers that I would consider elite...and quite a number on the offensive side as well...I guess it all comes down to how you translate on-the-field, real life statistics to game ratings...1 per team is not enough in my opinion...

Re: Madden Player Ratings (09)

@Exonerated

So you are saying one of the best LTs in the game currently is not a 95? Joe Thomas is on the browns. You are saying that Shaun Rogers is not even close to being an overall 95? Rogers had 76 total tackles and 4.5 sacks....As a NT. He was lead the team in sacks and he also was third for most tackles. He was also the lead the league for most total tackles by DTs.

I can understand how the rest of the browns team is but obviously these two players deserve a 95+

Titans - None (Do you really want to put a kicker here?)

Jaguars - None

Texans - A. Johnson, M. Williams

Pats - Brady, Moss

Dolphins - None

Jets- None (Revis if you were pushing it)

Bills - None (TO, but I doubt it)

Steelers - J. Harrison, T. Polamalu

Bengals - None (Chad is imo, but many would disagree)

Ravens - E. Reed, (R. Lewis is pushing it)

Browns - Yeah right lol the browns. Who do they have above 90 lol.

Chargers - Merriman, (Rivers close, not LT)

Raiders - Nnamdi Asomugha

Broncos - Nope

Chiefs - Gonzalez

Plus a few randoms there aren't even that many in the AFC.
