^^95+ OVR^^

5. Roethlisberger(I think he should be 90 but will probably be 92-94)

6.Romo(89-91)

7. Rivers(I see him as better than Roethlisberger but he didn't win the SB so he won't be rated higher, 88-90)

8. Cassel( IMO does not deserve to be up here but EA will go off of last season so he will be 88)

9. McNabb(86-88)

10. Pennington(86-88)

I think the rating difference needs to be over 10 points to notice that much of a difference unless there is some other rating other then the OVR that is making a huge difference.

PlayerA - speed 83 OVR 93
PlayerB - speed 99 OVR 98

I would see a difference between these two players. However, even if it was reversed I would rather have the faster player.

PlayerA speed 83 OVR 98
PlayerB speed 99 OVR 93

In this case I would still want playerB. So, unless there is some major change speed will rule the overall rating unless there is a HUGE difference between the two.

PlayerA speed 83 OVR 99
PlayerB speed 99 OVR 57

In this case I would more then likely prefer playerA but the OVR difference would need to be say ~18+ point difference for me to go with the slower player.

Bottom line, speed has always been more important for certain positions in past Maddens for the OVR to mean that much. So, other rating would need to have more meaning then speed for the OVR to mean that much. With that in mind I think comparing the players rated OVR 90 and higher would need to be compared from Madden 09 to Madden 10 to have a good feel of the difference.

All of this is assuming your playing the games and not simming.

assuming that SPD wont be a grand factor in madden 10....you'd actually have to draft or sign for pure skills....IMO they really need to remove the OVR system and import a PT (player type system)such as for a HB: POWER/SPEED/BALANCED

ADRIAN PETERSON:BALANCED
BRANDON JACOBS:POWER
CHRIS JOHNSON:SPEED

just a broad example im not a ratings GURU

I think they need to atleast make types come into play in overall. Some players fit into different systems but not always equally.

Therefore for instance Fitzgerald's overall depending on your system might be:

Tall/Redzone Receiver - 98
Speed Receiver - 91
Quick/Route Running Receiver - 93
Possession Receiver - 97
Balanced Receiver - 97

You need to have the ability to set different philosophies for each position too. For instance:

#1 Receiver - Balanced
#2 Receiver - Speed
#3 Receiver - Quick/Route Running
#4 Receiver - Tall/Redzone

In head coach you could only set one that covered all players of that position. You really need to be able to set a depth chart for each spot and a type for each spot.

Re: Madden Player Ratings (09)

The only thing that needs to be 95-99 on LT is his carrying. One fumble last season. No fumbles the season before. I don't know why his carrying is low. He's already been striped of his speed. At least give him 95+ carrying. He knows how to protect the ball almost better than any running back in the league right now.

Even the colts with the great peyton manning had only 5 games with 300 plus yards and most of them were with sub-par defenses. (Jags,Lions,Chargers, houston, vikings)

But i'm not challenging peyton's abilities because everyone knows he is a HOF QB. I'm just going on last season that based on stats that were put up. You can't put rivers to the side because we had the worst pass defense in the league or because we had a easy scedule.

On madden 10 I hope he's at least 5th at least the 6th reguardless of the who they played. You got peyton, brady, brees, rothlisberger, warner, and then rivers. Even though when its all said and done the 2 in front of him doesn't compare on paper from last season.

Just because I think he's top 5 doesn't mean I think he's greater than the other QB's that have won a superbowl.

Where would you place him based off a last season? Give me a top 10?

peyton
brees
brady bunch
rothlisburger (since he won the SB)
who?
who?
who?
who?
who?
who?
P, Bra., Bre., Warner: i actually dont think hes that good but w/e,-gap- Mcnabb... probably a stretch but damn it not too many come as close, Rivers: the man's a great qb, don't get me wrong just not as dominant as a 95 would suggest, Roethlisberger: plays like mcnabb, which means i love him, Pennington, Rogers, Romo.

and thats right, NO ELI. lol
