I know I have posted a few threads like this, but after seeing the response I got last night, I was very encouraged.
People have found a way to set up the 1-5-5 nickel as a BASE DEFENSE. The o-line interaction with the linebackers in this formation is waaaaaay out of wack. You can literally blow up the inside run if you oposition some of the LBs in a certain way every play, and at the same time play very effective pass defense.
I know you guys have spoken alot about better ol/dl interaction, and I hope that the 1-5-5 being INEFFECTIVE as a run defense plays into that. If someone is playing a 1-5-5, it should be nearly impossible to stop an inside run for less than 5 yards.
