Unless the NFL says you can't put it in there.

This is such a lame statement though... And it's already been played to death... Do you expect them to put player who randomly disapear from franchise because they got busted for doping, or getting busted for running dog fights, or DUIs, etc, etc etc... There has to be a limit and as such, with the harsh rules and possible injuries surrounding the tackle in question, what point dose this add to the game if you're only playing pick up games...? You loose a guy for the rest of the game... Would it be something that you could controled? If it was, can you say 4th string DB HC tackle on Larry Fitz... Stupid suggestion... Hey, let's get a play where you can make one of your linemen go low on a guy, and have another taking him high trying to break his legs like the Ravens... Hey, lets have coaches who may randomly run out onto the feild and tackle a player who has daylight to the end zone... Better yet, lets have team driven penalty plays, like the Ravens, or better yet, if you're playing in snow, we could get the Pats a snow plow... These things are not in the spirit of the game and as such do nothing to add to the game over all...

not gameplay issues, therefore... not in the game

the tackle is however, therefore it should be there, but should trigger VERY SPARINGLY. I don't want 7 a game, maybe 1... maybe 2... most of the time 0 though.
We also need that play like Albert Haynesworth did, where the guy fell down and his helmet fell off and he stepped on his head... That would so rule!!!!

Gimme a break... Why would you want something like that? That's the kind of stuff you get in Blitz the League... We don't really need all penalties in this game, just the MAIN stuff... Could you imagine of they added the tuck rule!?
I actually think they should do this--have the tuck rule in the game, but called selectively, and only in favor of the Patriots.

/sarcasm

But in all seriousness, the occurrence of real horse collar tackles has lessened because of the rule changes...so I don't really need them in the game...if they put an animation/penalty in for the 10 or so times it really happens in a season...then that's cool too.

And for those clamoring for real off-the-field issues, it will never happen. The NFL is trying to have a good image, so you'll never see "Brady kills wife, trial set for August" or "Stallworth charged with DUI, manslaughter" in a newspaper on Madden...

Re: Horsecollar tackles

/\/\/\ Oh dude, I know... I was just making a point... Notice there was no mention of disreguarding the snowplow, or sideline coach tackles though Imagine though... You're playing with the Ravens in some online game. Buddy gets a breackaway and you catch him with Reed, just to have some stupid HC animation kicks in resulting in him having to leave the game... It's a lame idea, and since this is one of the potential penalties that can arrise from this kind of play, that's what would have to happen... Hey imagine if we could use a 3rd string DT and after the play was stopped, take a pop shot at a great QB only to have him break his leg... That on the other hand would be AWESOME!!!

The animations are great in that game. Hope we get animations like some of those in Madden.
