Wow. I really want Madden to return to it's thrown. With it being the only NFL game on the market, we should all expect nothing short of absolute greatness. But I am just not feeling it.

The "fight for every yard" mechanic looks extremely gimmicky, the animation system looks like stock trademarked Madden animations we have all come to know over the past 5 years. Yeah, all the blog posts here by the Devs and much of the talk about this year's improvements all sound great, and I appreciate the dev feedback we have all been getting. But this trailer just looks like the same Madden we get every year - a roster update, one new gameplay gimmick - bye, bye $60.

I am not even going to start with the Wii Madden trailer...

EA/Ian Cummings - If you really expect people to pay $60 every year on Madden, we need $60 worth of quality content to purchase. So either up the quality of your game, or lower the cost of your game series to $40 or less.

I was expecting more from a 'genre defining art style'. maybe they meant for the n64?

I too felt a little underwhelmed (except for protak of course), but you have to remember where they are coming from (09). No matter how much effort the team puts in, 09 was the foundation and the game can only be so improved.

Now where many of us were let down was in thinking that we were going to get Fifa like quality in a one year dev cycle; boys that just isn't happening. Personally, I am just worried about gameplay and if it plays a good game of football out of the box, i'll be happy.
