Re: running animation

This is a little off topic, but I hope your presentation folks notice how the camera is following the player who is running. Notice how it is moving with the player, but it is never locked in on the player? This is a key problem in Madden '09. AFter every play the camera locks on a random player. Due to the jerky movements of the player, this causes the camera to jerk. This makes it look very unrealistic. Instead, the camera needs to find a player, determine their direction and speed, and then move that way either slower or faster, but never lock in on the player on a move by move basis. All camera moves should be stationary or sweeping, but never locked in exactly on a players position/movement.

Re: running animation

I think that the current running animation just needs to be adjusted. Make the runner have more pronounced body lean that is adjusted to the TRK rating in Madden. A powerful runner like a Marion Barber runs with his pad level low. He would then adjust as he gets some open field. Some runners just run without pad level, like Chris Johnson.

Re: running animation

Getting some waist movement is going to be key as well. Watch the video Ian posted, then the one I posted. The top of the line on the pants moves for the player running in Ian's vid and on the 2K runner, but the Madden runners waist is locked solid. No movement what so ever at the top of the line.

Re: running animation

the common problem with madden running animations is that they bring their knees up way too far. Compare them to the steve smith and/or APF videos. Way too exaggerated.

so, is this going to be fixed? i mean everyone on here can see it, but can it be fixed?

How this thread stayed open so long is beyond me. I just read through it and some of you guys should seriously be ashamed of yourselves.
