Icon1 Not Another Typical "Ratings" Thread

I seem to be seeing a lot of threads talking about ratings being either too high, too low, not spread out enough...blah blah blah.

So I decided to add some creativity: here's what I think my team (Philadelphia Eagles) player ratings should look like in general:

Elite (94+ OVR): Asante Samuel, Brian Westbrook, Shawn Andrews

Semi-Elite (89-93 OVR): Sheldon Brown, Trent Cole, Donovan McNabb, Jason Peters

Average Starter (75-88 OVR): Sean Jones, Quintin Mikell, Juqua Parker, Brodrick Bunkley, Mike Patterson, David Akers, Stewart Bradley, Chris Gocong, Leonard Weaver, Stacy Andrews, Todd Herremans, Jamaal Jackson, Brent Celek, Kevin Curtis, DeSean Jackson

Average Backup (60-74 OVR): Nick Cole, Jack Ikegwuonu, Quintin Demps, Victor Abiamiri, Chris Clemons, Darren Howard, Trevor Laws, Omar Gaither, Akeem Jordan, Max Jean-Gilles, Mike McGlynn, Sav Rocca, Kevin Kolb, Kyle Eckel, Jason Avant, Hank Baskett

3rd Stringers and Special Teamers (Below 59 OVR): Dimitri Patterson, Dan Klecko, Jon Dorenbos, Torrence Daniels, Joe Mays, Tracy White, Bryan Smith, Winston Justice, A.J. Feeley, Lorenzo Booker, King Dunlap, Mike Gibson, Matt Schobel, Reggie Brown

I tried to spread out the ratings as well as I could. And I too believe that the 'Elite' players that they've shown so far are rated way too high. There should only be a handfull of players with an OVR of 99 (guys like: P. Manning, Brady, Tomlinson, Reed, Brees, Fitzgerald-I'm not saying all of them, they're just canidates).

Feel free to post your team's player ratings here, I think it'll be interesting as to what people have to say about players who's ratings have already been released. Just try to keep it unbiased (I know its hard).

This is a better way to post your teams ratings.

Yeah I was about to say, LT is the last one who needs a 99 overall rating. The only thing that needs to be 99 on LT is his carrying as of right now. I think Merriman is at least 95 since he's been hurt.

The ratings in Madden 10 are a joke. Wes Welker rated higher than T.O, Fred Smoot rated higher than Deangelo Hall? how is that realistic?

this is why i am the loudest advocate for getting rid of the overall rating

wes welker is better than T.O in many areas but not in others but how can the game show that.

T.O is a somewhat flashy diva superstar who can make great plays, has the physical atributes of a great player but welker makes as much plays as him with out all the trouble and half his size.

this is why i edit every player in my game takes a week but worth it.

i would ask you how is T.O better. both players make plays

Some people are never happy.....

Donny, Ian or anyone

Please if not this year next year, replace these number grades with letter grades.....

IMO a A Looks waay better than 99

Manning 99
Brady 98
Brees 97

Manning A(still be a 99)
Brady A(still be a 98)
Brees A(still be a 97)

Is a better presentation

Giving us the numbers is kind of cheating especially in franchise mode

Wes Welker is a #2 reciever at best,T.O is the 1st option. Welker gets open because Moss is getting all the double teams.
