Exclamation -Fade Routes and Madden 10-

It seems like forever since I've been able to execute a realistic fade route in a football game. I'm not sure if it's ever even been possible in a Madden game , but last I can remember, I've only been able to do them in the 2K games. As a die-hard Giant's fan, it's been pretty frustrating the past few seasons getting into the "green zone" and not being able to throw that fade to Plaxico that was so popular for us, and even won us a SuperBowl. I hate seeing that height mismatch and not being able to take advantage of it. The passes never seem to get outside and to the corner enough, nor do they seem to hang up in the air enough or have the proper touch no matter what I do. Not to mention, often times Plax wouldn't even attempt the proper catch animation. He would look disinterested and barely even make a play on the ball... not jumping, and certaintly not trying to use his height and physicallity to get better position then the corner in order to make the catch.

It's something that's really frustrated me over the years. Am I alone on this? What are Ian and Co. doing about this, if anything?

I must say, so far they seem to be doing a great job in righting the wrongs that have been plaguing the series for years now, but IMO this is a really big problem hat needs to be addressed... if possible, this year.

I know we don't have Plax anymore, but we just drafted Ramses Barden, a 6'6" freak of nature from Poly Cal... and a fade route master. I NEED TO BE ABLE TO USE HIM IN THE GREEN! Make it happen guys!

I'd imagine the problem is making the fade work realistically without making cheesers who just chuck it 30 yards downfield to tall receivers dominate online. Probably a very tricky balancing act.

Re: -Fade Routes and Madden 10-

Im not sure what is it called. It might be the fade route. I want to be able to take a WR like Randy Moss and just toss the ball up in the endzone if he is one on one with a short CB.

This video at 0:30 has it. It is also at 4:09-4:30

Obviously Moss does some crazy catches but I was more referring to the WR jumping up fighting for the ball and trying to catch a pass that gets thrown his way in the endzone.

I hear you, but if the game faithfully recreates the the difficulties with completing each type of pass, there really shouldn't be that much of an issue.

You know what I'm saying? There's reasons why teams don't often throw fade routes anywhere but the redzone. It simply wouldn't work.

Well yeah, but that's probably easier said than done. It's not like this isn't in the game because EA doesn't want it. I'm guessing they just haven't found a good way to replicate all the intricacies that go into some of this stuff.

If I ain't wrong. But didn't Ian say in a blog that they made it where you can do fade routes in the end zone this year. I could be wron. But anyway. The fade route would be aproblem online.. Because a lot of cheesers would use it every single time and abuse the play.

Re: -Fade Routes and Madden 10-

I think you'll be able to execute it better this year since the gamespeed can be slowed down.

This is why it was so easy to execute in 2k5.Actually a little too easy to lob an undefensible pass to a taller receiver.

The problem w/ past Madden's was both gamespeed and the fact that receivers would run their routes out-of-bounds/through the back of the endzone w/o trying to keep themselves or their feet in.

You could do it though with perfect timing.Just could be frustrated based on my statement above.
