You know what I realized looking at that running video. APF has a nice "randomness" to their running. While Maddens looks like it is in constant "LOOP". So it does not look real. Very obvious when you look at a side view of the guy running a long distance, it is the same animation over and over and over

Yeah, I tried to call out the randomness to the stride in the running animations thread. I don't think Ian see's it though.

Re: Difference Between Models in Madden and APF2K8

Great topic! With the 2k models they do seem a bit bigger but I think the main difference to me is that when running they seem to have a more human like swagger than Maddens models, and I think that really is where 2k sells the realism in movement.

Maddens models when up against 2k are just as good if not better looking to me. Its just when you watch a player in Madden run down the field it feels like a very calculated and precise line with very little swagger to the model that would help create that human aspect. It has a very "tight" feel where 2k has a "loose" and human feel. I think Madden would be a much better game all around if they were able to give their models a litte "swagger". IMO that is what is missing.

I think you might be right about that, the HB runs in the WildCat vidoes looked better proportioned to me. (HB's only).

It would be nice if we could see a side by side comparison of the 30 fps to 60 fps to get an idea of what we are gaining / losing in the trade off. They can add a little blurring technology and make up for the lost frames and probably make the game look smoother in the process.

If you want a comparison. Look at the year the PS3 had 30 and the 360 had 60.

I personally would want 30 with better animations.

I am pretty sure it was 07.
Edit : It was 08.

I see no difference really.
