Come on Madden. What's with the squib kicks? Put it back in the game.

Re: Squib kicks?????

bumpage

I've been playing Madden 08 on XBOX (not 360) the past couple days and I did notice I was able to choose Squib Kick right, middle, or left.
I definitely agree this needs to be part of the kicking game as it does happen weekly and it's too tough in Madden next gen to get the ball to hit the ground as it always seems to go to a player instead.
**And I agree, 2 ways to do it. Have the option right in the Kick Gameplay screen like I mentioned above(Squib kick left) OR choose the 2K5 method where if you point the arrow all the way down and kick the ball, it'll squib 80-90% of the time.

so.....yeah.....bump this thread.

Any chance Madden is the same way? i.e. You just have to practice / perfect the kick?

Yea, you definitely can do it by pointing it down. I do it all the time. You just have to know the proper angle and power to give it.

Re: Squib kicks?????

Yea you sort of described it but it's not to kill the clock, it's to make sure a big time returner doesn't make a big return. The ball basically bounces down the field making it difficult for proper blocking to be set up.
