Every year my brother and I take the day off when Madden is released. We have been doing it for years and it's turned into a holiday for us. The mistake I made was telling my boss why I was going to be gone.

The picture shown is what my desk looked like when I returned the day after Madden was released. Not only did the vandalize my desk, they took pictures of it and sent them to everyone in the company which has 200-250 employees. The e-mail said "this is what happens when you skip work to play videogames".

Hahaha! That is absolutely great, I'm just lucky to have summer for another 20 days after Madden comes out, the first day it comes out I play it probably 24-30 hours straight.

Ouch, Own3d! LOL Aside from the fact that they vandalized your desk is not good to let anyone, never mind your boss know that you prioritize video games over your work.

lol, thats funny. Wouldnt mind working with people that have a good sense of humor like that. I've never taken off work to play madden(i took off work to play Gears or War 2) but im thinking about it this year. I just have to start working on my "sick" voice, cause im pretty sure if i told them i was staying home to play madden(or any other game), i'd have a nice pinkslip waiting for me.

I have always asked off well in advance to be off for NCAA Football and Madden release day. My work doesn't like it but it's my time off and I will do what I want to with it.
