Pulling on jerseys in Madden...

This is merely out of curiosity... but I was wondering if it'd ever be possible to create some sort of dynamic jersey pulling/grabbing animation in Madden where the jersey actually animates. I'm not sure what type of tech would be needed to implement that (possibly the same tech responsible for the animation in the hand towels?)

But it'd be pretty cool to see defenders grabbing and pulling on jerseys before they lose their grip as the ball carrier breaks away.

you can see it a few times early in that vid, but I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about...

Can any of the devs shed some light on this?

Remember, the NFL controls what can go in the game, and I don't think they want the "dirty play" aspect of a game to be glorified...

Just cause its in the game, the NFL doesn't always want it to be in the game

whats dirty about pulling someone's jersey to try and make a tackle?

But now that i just thought about it, it would be nice to see them add a horsecollar tackle animation and add it as a penatly. They have facemask penalties that you have no control over, why not horsecollar?

that would be nice, and after the play during the cutscene before the huddle you can have a teammate come over and push back his pad into the shirt.

Pulling a player down by the jersey is legal. Pulling a guy down by is hair is legal for goodness sake. I think it'd be awesome, but I'm not sure such a technology exists yet. I think the jersey animation in NBA 2k9 (albeit basketball jerseys are drastically different than football jerseys) is fantastic. There are glitches every once in a while, but for the most part it's solid. But even in that game, there's no interaction between players and jerseys.

Would it be awesome? I think so. Will it happen? I don't know. It's not dirty though. The NFL allows dirty plays (late hit, facemask, etc.) to be in Madden, so they should certainly allow not dirty plays.
