Audibles & the D that listens

One thing that has really bothered me in the last Madden was when calling audibles at the line, if I'm bluffing changing the play the D doesn't react at all. If I have a run up the gut called and I audible to the same play the D always knows I'm bluffing. if I audible to a pass though, they immediately begin to shift around. What's up with that?

How do they know that I'm faking an audible or when I'm actually calling one when the formation doesn't change? Audible bluffing is a big part of the NFL, and should have an effect on D's in this game. Not always, but sometimes.

This needs to be fixed in this years game IMO..

Another thing is it seems as if the computer knows where you're running. Like if I run to the outside I'll see the LB's immediately run to where I'm running. That's another reason counters never trick the computer.

Agreed. It's as if the computer always knows what you're calling, and I need them to get out of my huddle.

Re: Audibles & the D that listens

this is the best post i've ever seen

this is so annoying!!!
i'll be running, maybe have two tight ends, a full back, a half back and one wide out. then i see that my wideout has a beautiful one-on-one mismatch, isolated with a cornerback. he's playing up to the line, and it's got 'deep touchdown' written all over it. i formation audible to a deep route, and the corner automatically drops off, and the safety comes across. it's so annoying.

Re: Audibles & the D that listens

Yeah and if you run a fake punt, the CPU generally always comes out in a pass protected punt return formation.

Besides making it so the AI, isn't always able to read the players play calling but on topic of defensive audibles would be to see a team captain actually call out an audible on defense.

The animation is there for the QB changing the play, but on defense there isn't really any recognition or call from anyone during an audible.

Occasionally when you call a defensive audible, the middle linebacker will bash on his helmet, look over his shoulder and make signals with his arms (clearly calling an audible).

They don't do it very often, but when they do it looks so unbelievable cool!
