Why because of the powers to be behind the EA doors didn't want him to be. But now he is. Please don't make a silly useless thread like this. It's a waste of time.

the real question is, how did they take a promising foundation in madden 06 and totally go *** backwards in madden 07, 08 and 09?

Sorry buddy, but this thread will be closed soon. To answer your question, Ian Cummings became the lead designer this year after Phil Frazier became senior producer. This happened after David Ortiz left. EA Sports wasn't going to force David Ortiz to leave if he didn't choose to.
