Nope. You can do 2 players and 30 cpu teams. Any combination will work. You can use existing teams or do a full fantasy draft. Also the old trade nonsense is fixed per the franchise mode improvements blog update. Remember everything in that blog update refers to online too according to Phil. The new injury system as well as presentation mode are a part of online franchise. You cannot create your own team The Denver Dragons etc. Not sure if anyone would want that, but if you do a full draft from scratch, you're still putting players on NFL teams. The live online draft with 32 players sounds so friggen epic. I am hoping that there will be a great franchise with many of you that we can broadcast on All Games TV.

Trust me, if you think you will have a problem filling all 32 spots in an online franchise, your lack of faith is disturbing...

But i do hope you can have a mixture, it would be nice to have a few friends and the cpu.

no don't get me wrong i do have faith and the vision of a fantasy draft with 32 people. is epic but some people always complain about having to play random people. Scot it would be great if Allgames got a league going. Looking forward to it.

That sounds sweet. Start posting here more! Just answer 1 question. Did Madden NFL 10 out do ESPN NFL 2k5 in terms of game play, presentation and everything else?

Will it last 30 seasons like the offline franchise or is it only one season?

There's no clear-cut answer for this question. Gamers will ultimately decide when the demo and/or final game has shipped.
