Re: Sideline catches

I think it's kind of sad when I see 10x more sideline catches in a HS football game than in Madden. They were there in 08, I have no idea why they scrapped/toned them down. They occur so frequently on Sundays.

Re: Sideline catches

I dunno. I know what Pasta said, but in reality, how many sideline throws were actually attempted? I can't think of one true sideline throw I saw in any of the videos (not saying there were none...just saying I can't recall any).

Now, this may end up being a problem in it's own right. I would like to see an AI opponent that tries to work the whole field...particularly in appropriate situations. That's a separate discussion though...lol

Also, I recall some CD guys saying that the momentum and weight wasn't nearly what it was when they tested the game. It could be that things were toned down for the E3 demo, or just buggy in general. Maybe the sideline catches fall under the same programming...I dunno.

I guess my point is that I'm not too worried about this yet. Until I see it actually in play consistently, and visibly NOT working properly, I'm not going to panic. I suppose it's something to watch for though.

I never even saw the toe drag dive catch once at CD and am pretty dissapointed about it.

I didn't think they said anything about the catch itself, just the throw's location.
Actually, that was a TD catch. It was a nice toe-tap to stay in the endzone, not the sidelines.

Re: Sideline catches

I just said I never once saw them on community day and that was some odd 14 straight hours of gaming.
