Sweet. What happens when you try to roll out or drop back too far? That's where the pocket should collapse because the QB steps out of it and the DEs should be in position for the sack. Looks pretty sweet.

Thumbs up Re: Post-E3 pass rush update

Your effort is very much appreciated Ian. After these last few weeks of work you deserve a long vacation and a huge raise.

It's good that you are taking notice of the details of the results and not just the results themselves. I'm curious. Along those same lines, what's your assessment of the post-tuning engagement/awareness of line interaction? I remember plenty of E3 footage showing lineman still blocking air, missing plays entirely, etc. Defensive lineman being knocked down too frequently would fall under this question too, I suppose.

Is this falling into these pro-tak related adjustments as well? I know you said you're still tuning, but how do you feel things are shaping up in that regard?

Re: Post-E3 pass rush update

The problem is, the longer the QB stands back with the ball...the more dominant the offensive line gets over the defensive line.

Even Walter Jones can't hold a pass rusher forever. He rarely mauls people on pass pro. In Madden 10 videos, average lineman put pass rushers to the ground.

We need more differentiation between the dominant pass protectors (Walter Jones, Jamaal Brown, Flozell Adamns), the average tackles, and the liabilities.

We surely shouldn't see average T's or liabilities put pass rushers on the ground.

Re: Post-E3 pass rush update

hey Ian , welcome back. on those times, what step drop back were you using.

will these numbers be tweaked for shotgun formations as well.

also....with the cpu pass rush that high are thier alot of guys just standing thier not blocking anyone, or is it due to finness and power moves by the defense.

thanks for you feedback

Thats what im trying to find out. I hope he isnt ducking us on that, and he is in fact testing that out as I type. That is what is most important in my and many others eyes.
