only way I know of is through subs, or depth chart manipulation.

I'm more concered about the computer, i'd like to see some more input....actually SOME input from backup RBs,...or RBs in committees. It's not always a one man show.

Re: RB by committee

Isn't there a stamina setting you can change to force more substitution?

When I play the Cowboys, I normally sub Jones in for about 1/3 of the formations. I think I put in Choice for two formations as well.

The old sub In/Out slider was very helpful for this.

Re: RB by committee

Most running backs in the league do not get subbed because of fatigue. Coaches do this as a change of pace and another method for keeping defenses on their toes. When DeAngelo comes out of the game it's not because he is tired, it's because they are going with a downhill, power style runner in J. Stewart.

In each of the years 1998 and 1999 there were 9 backs that averaged over 20 carries a game. In 2008... 4. Also in 1998, the top three running backs averaged over 24 carries a game; last year one player averaged over 23 carries a game. Where am I going with all of this? Well backs are not getting less conditioned over the years; teams have just changed their philosophy on how they use their running backs.

Madden needs to implement some sort of system that subs backs in based on team specific plays, down and distance, and just simply splitting the carriers according to their real life counter parts. I would love to see a thunder and lightning or slash and dash attack in Madden.

Re: RB by committee

I would LOVE if teams used their bench. But with the new fatigue system, you WILL see back-ups and even 3rd stringers getting in on the action.......HOPEFULLY.....

Back when Ian put out the FATIGUE blog, he has a very clear breakdown of how it will work. Based on that info, there is no way for a player to NOT get tired and need to be subbed.

*fingers crossed*
