How exactly can you hate the crib, you could very easily play 2K5 for hundreds of hours and NEVER have to see it if you choose, the stupid madden rings were right there the moment you turned on the game. The crib was cool and had fun mini games.

Madden shop is probably just a menu link to the marketplace items, i don't know why everyone is so excited for it.

i'm just not a big fan of the periphery stuff....also the crib had you accumulate crib credits, such as when you made 5 user tackles etc....and the hours accumulated.

All signs point to it being where all the game play options are. Kind of like a Car Shop? It's a Madden Shop.
