Re: First year FA in online franchise

just saw a video interview with the franchise designer. He suggested that we can expect 5 injuries a week on average to better match the real NFL. There are gonna be team owners beside themselves when this impacts their team. The injury aspect of the game could be an incredible addition to the strategy of the game coupled with free agency. Some owners are gonna want to sign FA's every week and it just doesn't work that way. It will be interesting.

The League cap is increased by %8 each season to mimic the NFL.
You guys don't need to increase the salary cap each year. In real life they do because players contracts are constantly getting more expensive. Like stated earlier, if you increase the salary cap every year in Online Franchise you are just encouraging players hogging all the talent.

Re: First year FA in online franchise

I'm actually building a computer program of sorts in C# to help online franchise commissioners out with player management and free agency; the program is to be used alongside of an online franchise, and in my opinion should be easier to work with than an Excel spreadsheet.

It basically emulates a salary cap in a similar manner to what TurfGuy23 posted (though I don't follow that to a tee, the way I assign initial values for players also takes age and position into consideration; a couple other differences also exist).

When it's done I can post it up here if anyone is interested. Also if anyone is interested in the meantime, I can write up a more full explanation of exactly what said program will be able to do.

Absolutely we will be interested!

Sounds like a pretty cool little program your building. Please post it when it's done.

Possibly give dibs to teams in inverse order of their overall rating so lowest team has 1st choice and so on till the highest team
