Icing the Kicker

remember that steelers titans game a way back? playoff game? Steelers called a timeout to ice the kicker.. the kicker still got the ball off, made the ball in, but didnt count. Fireworks went off... The kicker kicked again, missed badly, but some Steelers player ran into the kicker... Rekick. Titans finally kick for a third time and make it, sent the Steelers home and the Titans advanced.

Yes sir I remember that game very well indeed. The panthers won in overtime number 2 with the xclown play to steve smith. for the TD. That was a great game for both teams. And yes the time out for both teams icings the kickers did affect them big time.

omg this is a pet peeve of mine in pro football..it is sooo stupid the whole ice the kicker non-sense...how many times do u see them call a time out at the last second, and the kicker misses, only to kick again and make it...i find it so irritating.

exactly, icing the kicker does not work. if you wanna call a timeout before the kicker kicks in madden go for it, but it shouldn't cause some effect to make it harder for you to kick.

I completely agree, a "feature" like this would be pretty dumb.
