What will happen now that Madden's retired

Interesting words from Peter Moore:

"And in fact our team is there with him right now. He has a production company in the East Bay and I'm spending more time with him because he's not traveling anymore."
Could Madden be making a comeback?

Nothing. It'll keep going on. Either that or they'll change it to NFL Football 2011.

I'm just guessing of course, but if this generation of systems do indeed last another 5-6 years as predicted, then they may change the name when the next generation of consoles launches

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

John Madden might be used a lot more in Madden 11, but as far as the name of the franchise (Madden NFL), it will definitely stay the same. Just think, no one would be able to call themselves Maddenites and a lot of people will feel that another name is generic.

I cant believe the Lombardi trophy is being compared to a video game. Anyway, I thought EA was seriously thinking about changing the name years back. Only reason to really keep it is there under a new contract. I guess the Maddenites might get mad as someone said. Thats a real minority though, even if it is hardcore players.

Re: What will happen now that Madden's retired

I am for sure the name will not change one bit. Madden is just not working with staff that much anymore on his game. There might be times when they might call on for a purpose in the future. But for now the guy is retired just trying to enjoy the good life with his wife, kids, and grandkids and all of that money he has. I wish I had his money right now. I would be so happy.
