Re: How has Madden contributed to your overall understanding of Football ?

It taught me a heck of a lot - it actually got me into seriously watching football at age ~12 whereas I really didn't pay all that much attention to it before. Same thing with NHLPA Hockey - introduced me to the sport and then I dug deeper on my own.

I've got a football family though - my grandfather was a coach his whole life (even made it to the pros for a short time in the 70's as a def coordinator for the Saints!) - but honestly playing Madden is what really got me interested and got me talking to him about the nuts and bolts of football as a teenager.

Madden has not really taught me about X's and O's, but more so of the rosters of other teams. I always know who is on my Giants team because I'm a die hard fan, but awhile back i used to struggle with other teams depth chart.

Madden helped me find out about all the players that are in the NFL, but not how the game is played.
