also from those pics above, the rams play indoors...so i guess you can expect things to be a little darker. and in the 49ers picture, it's hard to tell if there's a shadow covering that part of the field or if anyone or anything else is around creating a shadow in that area. i think some of the pictures on the madden site are a little better.

There are a ton of factors that take part in what you actually see on your television, and for that matter in the screenshots on your monitor.

I think what you are really noticing is a problem with the color saturation in the screenshots. The colors are too saturated and intense, they need to be less intense in order to look more realistic.

With a properly calibrated TV, hopefully this won't be a problem. Unfortunately most people will play the game with horrible factory default settings.

Maybe they are really oversaturating the screenshots to make them "pop", but I agree, it doesn't look realistic the way it is. In the TC's first post, you see that the colors are actually less intense, making it look much more realistic.

Nice post!

I thought you were going to talk about the Menus being too dark because the Menus in 09 don't even look like they belong to a football game.

The menus should look and feel a bit more sport like... not like some kind of horror game...

But yeah Madden needs to lighten up a bit (in both Menus and graphics)and not look so "depressing" so to speak.

Guys...There is a picture slider. It's on your TV.

Seriously folks, these screenshots aren't made on some sort of "official Madden TV setting." You could achieve the effects you are looking for simply by tuning your brightness, sharpness, and color saturation levels on your TV.

Does anyone know if the grass is going to grow on the field this year? I'd like to be able to send the grounds maintenance crew out during the week to mow the grass in my franchise.
