Jake is not a very accurate Qb and he underthrows, overthrows many times. There have been many times where Jake underthrew the ball and Steve Smith drastically slowed down his route if not stopping and turning around. The reason that he can tell this is because he can tell the TRAJECTORY of the pass (also he's looking directly at the flight of the ball. If you never noticed, wide receivers actually turn their waist around to look in the backfield). Maybe not exactly where the ball is going to land, but even average wide receivers can tell if a ball isn't going to be "on the money".

When Randy Moss played on the Vikings, there were deep balls that Randy had to run at a slanted angle across the field to get to where the ball was going. This, simply means, he knew, vaguely, where the ball was going to land so he BROKE OFF HIS ROUTE.

Ian can you comment on this? I saw it already in a NCAA 10 Demo video and it will ruin Madden 10 IMO.

Please read my other post. KOCHK, a guy he attended E3 said that from his experience, the Rocket catch was gone.
