I usually am a safety depending on which one I like more of the team I'm playing. But I see so many people playing DE especially online.

Re: What defensive position do you normally play?

I've become locked on to FS ever since I started picking off deep passes and laying the wood over the middle with Brian Dawkins in Madden 2005. The few times I do switch are when it's a run or open catch and I don't trust the AI to make the tackle.

Depending on the play call

DL-OLB-S

If they would allow a wider camera where we could see the flats, I'd actually play some CB every once in a while

Re: What defensive position do you normally play?

Man, I love to play the corner position. You have to be very precise playing out there.

Madden09 irritated me when it came to defensive play because it was to fast and twitchy(for lack of better word, lol) so I had to abandon the CB position for 09.

Hopefully I can get back to it in 2010.

As far as not being able to see into the flats, they way I remedied that was, I'd hit the trigger for coach cam to zoom the camera back, because all I needed was that first couple of seconds after the snap and the camera would zoom back anyway if my opponent was throwing the ball.

Worked pretty well.

I play FS and never switch. Like somebody else on here said I take away half the field.

I play the less rated Safety most of the time.

In most peoples mind if they play as a DE they will get more sacks. They also dont know how to play any positon because they are cheesers. That is the reason why most people play as DE every online game.

This year with the new Defensive/Offensive line I will be using a DE quite a bit. After playing the Cowboys vs Giants demo I noticed it is very easy to get sacks with the Giants D-ends. I knew that (look at my aviatar) but didnt think Ian and Co could pull of a fun D-line interaction.

I will also be playing as FS. If you know how to use a FS online theres no doubt your record should be pretty good.

Most people dont realize that there is very, very little suction blocking in the game this year. Everyone is holding down the spint trigger meanwhile you are only supposed to use the hitstick.
