That would be an awesome twist of fate. I'm not going to get my hopes up though.

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever why we shouldnt be able to edit physical features. I can understand not being able to edit things like height and weight IF IF IF they actually mean something in the game, but skin tone....hair and facial hair...TATTOOS!!!? Gimme a break.

And equipment isnt editable either?

Wow. I wont say that this should deter anyone from buying the game, but it certainly is complete BS.
Equipment IS editable. Not bolding that to be a dick, just to make it stand out, as the answer seems to have gotten lost on the previous pages. The only place you can't edit equipment is in Online Franchise, everywhere else allows this.

I have the beta version...and a retail copy. However, in EA's defense, I've only had the retail copy for two days.

Not sure what the gripe is about. If you have a 99 player ovr, then his potential should automatically be calculated to be a premiere player. As far as editing existing players, they should have that, just as long as they are not online against others.

Re: This is disappointing news about editing players

Ok let me get this right, We cant edit the players already on the Madden rosters but right? But what about the in coming draft classes from NCAA, I mean so do we have to deal with say a player coming in weighing 209 and is a linebacker. Man I hope we can put some weigh on him so hell look realistic. Please can someone tell me if we can do this or what, Or is it just for the players in Madden we cant touch?

Re: This is disappointing news about editing players

Here is some good news, and answers.

1) Recycled players in the draft doesn't seem to be a problem. Sure, names like Smith, Jackson, Williams are pretty common, but there were tons of unique last names such as Gords, Tartt III, Sweetney, Ash, and Rambis that didn't repeat themselves one time after 3 years of simulation.

2) Backups do progress, even when not playing. How much depends on their potential. Veterans do regress, depending on their age.

So there's some good news for you guys

You can't edit the height, weight, or build of any current or incoming player. You only have this option in the create-a-player screen.

Re: This is disappointing news about editing players

Rhobbs,

Thanks for coming back continually to answer these questions- much appreciated. I'm not denying your credibility, its just disappointing that EA said one thing earlier, and now we are finding out we got our hopes up for nothing.

One more question- Someone earlier in this thread mentioned a possible work-around for potential not being editable. You said you took a 58 overall player and made him a 97, therefore making his potential from a D to an A.

SO... If you were to make these changes and save it- could you try going back in and making his overall back down below 60. Would his potential stay as an A, or would it go back down to a D potential?

If you are able to answer this, thanks in advanced.
