Alright, pretty out of the blue question. I been playing a lot of the demo and madden 09 on ps2 lately and something popped in my head. I have never done a user controlled DIVING catch. Have any of you guys pulled off a user controlled diving catch? Is it even possible? Or do those spectacular diving catches just happen through an automatic animation when you don't control your receiver?

I did it in NCAA 09 last year on a whim. Besides this play I have never done it before, or since.

I did a diving INT with ed reed. I think it was a glitch because i was burnt, and i dove out of desperation to knock the ball down off of a deep slant route. And when the WR tried to catch it low reeds hand was there and the ball was in one of his hands. I didn't know if the wr got it or if it was incomplete. then the camera changed.

I've seen the CPU go into the animation a few times and caught it, but I've never done it user controlled...

I did it once in the NCAA 10 demo felt pretty badass lol

do you actually hit X and than Y to do a diving catch? or just press Y for a "spectacular catch animation"

When i did it with ed, i hit why, then realized i was burnt and quickly tapped x
