If in addition to your base playbook, you also had the option to create plays on the fly ?


Example Play: Pro I right 34 base.

At the play call screen you choose your formation(pro I) you choose which side you want the TE at(left/right), choose your hole(3 in this example) then choose which back runs it(4 is HB, 5 would be FB)


Look at the possibilities of a system like this.
The Oline will block according to what hole you want the running play to go through. You dont have to no longer "flip" plays because you are calling it dynamic at the play call screen which side you want to be the strong side.

You also would not have to scour through a bunch of play diagrams all the time, because you would know where the play is going based on the play name.

It was how we called plays when i played in highschool.(my Pro highschool career,)

I figure its time to evolve how we do alot of stuff in these football games to make them more interesting. Make you feel more involved.

not much. I think the current system for calling pass or run is good.
I think Blocking schemes need adjustments. LBzrule wrote a very good Blog on the concept. It is still posted under Blogs....I would like Ian & Company to work on Line play Fist and establish it...before they concentrate on anything else.

I agree, this would certainly bring a new "anything goes" flavor to the play calling. It certainly hasn't been seen in ANY football title before. I'm all for something like this. Football video games have had very similar play calling screens throughout their existence. This would certainly bring something new and fresh to the table (although casual fans may be lost on the concept, but that's what stuff like Ask Madden is for in the first place).

LBZrule thread needs to be resurrected and what we all need to focus on going forward is innovative ideas to help the devs and see what can realisticly be added in next years game.


I also would like to see the headsets we have be used so that your teams offensive/defensive coordinator would speak into your headset and tell you your opponents tendencies on 3rd and long or short, how many times they have passed or ran the ball at the end of quarters. In general things that can help you in deciding what plays to call.
