No more 1 Year work cycle excuses.

Good Afternoon All,

I do believe that Madden 10 will be a very good game. However, I can only laugh at the excuses I have read on the board for what can and cannot be added to a game in a year. There is a certain game that came out 5 years ago that quite a bit of people still play to this day....it worked year to year just like Madden and looked what they created 5years ago that is still making a deep impact and gaining new fans everyday! This is not a bashing nor is it a time for trolling. I am merely saying lets stop saying what cannot be done in the 1 year Dev. cycle....

That was last-gen. We are now 5 years into Next-Gen, and we are still missing features from last-gen that were very popular and gameplay mechanics that rocked! To be the best you have to beat the best....and you at least have to match and surpass what the competition did 5years ago. (esp when they are no longer able to make a game...ie.ncaa presentation, full-NFL presentation NFL)

August 14th. (or this Friday for some of us) I look forward to seeing all that Madden 10 has to offer. But please, lets quit saying, they only have one year...

Please inform me if I am wrong! lol

Re: No more 1 Year work cycle excuses.

It's all relevant. There's never been a video game that got 5 years worth of work within a years time. However, back when 2K and Madden were competing, we all saw how much work these guys can do. So when this generation started, and we were seeing 1/10th of that progress, we KNEW they weren't working as hard.

Re: No more 1 Year work cycle excuses.

The point here is the setback to the Madden series thanks to David Ortiz that the current team has to take time to undo and basically start over in some areas.

2K was not perfect, but the game set such a high standard that it seems pointless to buy Madden every year when they have yet to at least match what 2K did. And doesn't EA own the ESPN License? And we still are not getting a presentation that is even remotely close to 2K5? C'mon.
