Re: Fantasy Draft Franchise
I ended up simming my first season since so many of my guys were rookies/1-year vets to get some progression out of them. Went 8-8, ended up with the 12th overall pick. All of my guys progressed well, including Carson Palmer who had a great season (3,700 yards, 32 TDs, 5 INTs, crazy good, got a boost of +11 to SAC/MAC/DAC bringing them all to the 94-97 range). 14 of those TDs went to DeSean Jackson who had 79 catches and 1200 yards. Beanie Wells got just over 200 carries, but only 500 yards and 4 TDs, still got his +6 OVR (including +5 to Trucking) so hopefully he'll be better this year.
Merriman had 12.5 sacks, and English had 3. Ray Lewis had 164 solo tackles (56 assists), along with 1 sack and an INT. Kerry Rhodes and Brandon Meriwheather both had 4 INTs. Aaron Curry had 75 solo tackles (48 assists) and 3 INTs.
In the draft I looked for some depth at CB (my guys get tired pretty fast in 3 and 4 wide sets, and I only had 4 CBs) and WR (again, only 4, nice to have a backup if someone gets injured), but I spent my first rounder on a QB to train up to replace Palmer in a few years. I managed to grab a RT in the 4th round who was good (81 OVR, 99 Strength, A potential) and I put him at LG to replace my 75 OVR starter.
I won the first game of my second season, but I only had a little over 200 yards passing and rushing (over 500 yards total offense though, thanks to Reggie Bush taking a kick 94 yards and a punt 63 yards back for TDs, he also caught a 22 yard screen pass for a TD). Hopefully I'll be able to get more offense going in the next few games.
