I'm a Lions fan so this doesn't feel right, but I have to agree with you. I don't see how people can deny the fact that (as another poster stated) Jacksons stats are on par with Brees, Manning etc... over 20 games. I mean this guy has played the equivalent of 1 1/4 season and people are already saying the he is terrible and will never amount to anything. People used to say the same thing about Eli Manning and then he broke through (because his coaches actually decided to STICK with him for the long haul) and eventually won a Super Bowl....give the man at least another 1 3/4 more seasons (bring his grand total to 3 full seasons played, the "supposed" measuring stick for QBs) before you call him a bust.
That's one of the things that I hate about the NFL mentality, it's such a freakin' impatient meat market, and it sickens me. The franchise QB that you drafted last year suddenly has all of these holes because a NEW guy is available this year who is so much better than the guy you drafted last year (that has all of these supposed great tools, that your franchise QB the previous year was supposed to have). It goes on and on every year and I hate it, nobody wants to be patient anymore, it's perform great now or your a bust. If I remember correctly guys like Steve Young didn't exactly come out the gate like Peyton Manning, but he turned out to be OK (tounge-in-cheek). Roddy White was looking like a bust over his first 32 games, but look at him now. Sometimes you just have to be *gasp* PATIENT and give guys enough time to *gasp* DEVELOP, instead of tanking on someone who isn't a HOF player after 20 games.

Exactly. People have very short memories and are horribly impatient. It gets really annoying.
And as for 'needing someone who doesn't make mistakes' for the Vikings, and that Sage could be that guy... the Colts video that was posted was exactly the first thing I thought of. He's a decent QB and a great backup, but the Vikings would be much better off developing Jackson and sticking with him.
