While you are right that it still needs some work...you have to play this game to see how ridiculous (in a very very good way) it is. When I was using the Panthers I tried to trade Jon Beason (93 overall) and a 1st & 2nd round pick for Patrick Willis....it was a no go.
In every other Madden game that trade will probably go through-- teams with one really good WR and a few other serviceable one's will not part with their top guy. The logic is much improved.
It's improved, yes. Some players are untouchable, like Willis. But it still needs a ton of work. The CPU will give up way too much for players they want, and they want almost anybody.

Then I read your post, and understood what you were saying. I haven't made it to the offseason yet, nor have I attempted any trades. Should be interesting to see what others have experienced in this area..
