Madden in True 1080P

The only problem is the game can output in 1080p, but is not the native res of the game. a quick question as I am not tech savy when it comes to HD type stuff.. My TV only supports up to 1080i, but doesn't support 720p.. so what would Madden be displayed at on my system?

Madden on ps3 is not true 1080p it allows a tv which is 1080p to do the upscaling. The ps3 does not offer upscaling therefore the tv does the scaling but it does not make the game look any better then 720

Look at the show. It has true 1080p but it suffers at that res.

But you can see clear cut that it looks sharper then 720p

Madden is best at 720 on ps3 because that is where it was made for

And I have the game and a pioneer elite plasma as well

Well according to what I'm reading and guys have said Ian said, Madden was develop in 1080i, so you should be good from the get go.

This is what don't understand, if my set is native 1080p and supports all resolutions and madden is in true 1080i, when I start my PS3 up and play Madden is should be playing in 1080i, but it doesn't, it play in 720p by default always I say WFT.

Really, so why have people said that Madden was made in 1080i, so in reality that's what it should be played in for the best res, not 720p, wouldn't you think?

If you have a 360 set it to 1080I & you should be good. If your using a PS3 in the display settings menu of the PS3 select 1080I only. Fire-up the game & see what happens.

FF, if you have 720p selected in your PS3 Display Options most games will default to 720p. As I just posted above, deselect 720p in your settings & leave 1080I selected. Then fire-up the game.

I have a PS3 and I have yet to see a game in 1080i. The only game I remembered having that was Condemned. It didn't have 720 or 1080p. But when I set my settings to just 1080i to see it, it downscaled to SD on my HDTV. I was horrified, lol.

Has anyone seen a game in 1080i on their PS3s?
