Create Player/Team Question

Hey all, just picked up the game! My question is, is there a way to put your created players into the free agent pool instead of selecting a team? It would be much easier picking the players up for my created team this way instead of going through NFL teams and searching for all of them. Or maybe even a way to select your custom team to begin with from the list of teams (although I only see regular NFL teams). Thanks!
