Re: way to stop the wildcat.

I like to run a base defense, generally a cover 3. With this I press my DB's, bring the safety who has a hook zone into the box. Here all my defenders can simply read and react to the play, not blitz out of position. I haven't given up more than 5 yards on any wildcat play yet. Don't worry about blitzing because a pass rush isn't necessary. You need to just position your guys evenly and contain the edges.

Re: way to stop the wildcat.

i had someone run wild cat a lot against me online and i stopped it pretty easily out the base 4-3 with blitzing olb's. I would also control the mlb and run to the play side to either make the tackle or take out a blocker.

this strategy sounds good, one time my olb over pursued and the guy got 8 yards.

Re: way to stop the wildcat.

Personally I love when someone runs wildcat...I have no problem stopping it and honestly it makes their offense very predictable

Re: way to stop the wildcat.

Actually if anyone has tips on running hte Wildcat with success I'm all ears. I think the formation is very difficult to find success with given that it is revealed at the playcalling screen.
