When will they address contracts!! (EA please read)

i liked weekly prep in 2k. it was nice when u fig it out.

I love the fact that if I get to the offseason and go to staffing and one of my coordinator positions is now considered "open" because an offer has been made to him by another team, I can't actually counter-offer to keep him.

I have to FIRE him and re-offer him a whole new contract.

I've gotten to the point of only offering my coaches/coordinators 1-year contracts so that I don't have to pay the same coach "twice" because I'm assessed a financial penalty for firing him...he's just in the pool of available job applicants.

Now...maybe I'm just not creative or observant and missed that option somewhere in the interface on the 360. Am I missing something?

I understand this may be a new dev team or some changes were made, but I do remember having the option in the past to pay to keep coaches around without having to do this jimmy-rigged workaround.

One of the few things that was good in 2K5's franchise (although it had it's own quirks as well.

I still own and play 2K5 and none of the reasons include it's franchise mode being particularly good. Finns editor is it's saving grace from that standpoint. 2K's franchise has never been the strong point. To try and hold it over Madden (and I'm not saying this applies to you) is silly. It's one of the few areas 2K has no leg to stand on.

Now, franchise presentation is a different animal. 2K's presentation, gameplay, strategy, etc have been far superior to this point. I can't speak for Madden 10 as I've yet to play the full copy.

As for contracts, 2K5's were no more functional and, as has been mentioned, were unrealistic in terms of the options.

Yeah, "next-gen" coaching features in general have been flat out horrible. It's a major hole in franchise mode for me.

my only thing about the contracts, i believe it was said that players will get 10 year $100 mill contracts. i see them askin for the $100 mill and more, but limiting those contracts to 7 years will kinda hurt in the long run.

I loved the free agent bidding/contract negotiations of Head Coach last year. I am really hoping they have something like that in the works for next year.
