Why don't formation subs always work?

The biggest one I've noticed is when I use the Ravens playbook and I run any of the "Raven" plays. For instance, when you go into Singleback Y-Trips on the play-select screen, there are three plays called "Ravens Power", "Ravens Counter", and "Ravens Slants".

These plays come out in a different formation than the Singleback Y-Trips formation. I assume this makes the game think that it is a completely different formation in itself, so if you do a Formation sub for Singleback Y-Trips, it won't work for these plays.

This can be an extremely frustrating from time to time when I'm trying to run a 2-back system.

Personally I would like a quick reset button. There just isn't enough time while the clock is running to fix the subs.

All in all I don't like how they redid the formation subs this year. What was wrong with the system before exactly? In my mind it worked fine and just needed a minor tweak here and there, not an overhaul that doesn't make sense (can't change sub patterns outside a game, WTH?)

I seen this before, have you tried living Jacobs as the main back and tried the toss to see if its Bradshaw that takes it? May be the CPU automatically switches the HB for that particular play.

how do you set formation subs? i dont see an option for it under team management.

Yeah, this would help a lot. It's been even more difficult this year with the accelerated clock.
